Meet Chef Michael Schlow
With restaurants spanning the country, showcasing a range of global cuisines, Michael Schlow proves one of the industry’s most influential and respected chef-restaurateurs. He originally hails from Brooklyn, New York, and we couldn’t feel luckier to have him serving up delectable American fare to diners here at our DC venue.
Schlow learned the restaurant business from the bottom up, beginning as a dishwasher at age 14 and gradually rising through the ranks, working at some of the world’s best restaurants along the way.
He’s received countless awards, including being named “Best Chef in the Northeast” by the James Beard Foundation, “Best Chef in the Country” by Sante Magazine, as well as receiving the “Culinary Award of Excellence” (distributed by Robert Mondavi to only six recipients a year). His restaurants have been recognized by Esquire, Food & Wine, Conde Nast Traveler, and Gourmet, and he’s appeared on shows from Bravo’s Top Chef Masters to CBS This Morning.
